Goniometer Installations over Summer 09 Shutdown Newly built and installed (Summer 2009) Vertical goniometer at E0. It is ~ 4m upstream of the Hor. one. Ver. goniometer houses old O-shaped crystal (reversed for negative miscut) and multi-strip crystal. Modified horizontal goniometer. Replaced old large-miscut angle O-shaped crystal with new small miscut O-shaped during Summer 2009. AEM - Dec 21, 2009 - D. Still

Summary & Continued Beam Studies • Encouraged thus far by results of O-05-09, still need some instrumentation improvements at F17 to help detect the VR beam. • Still are working on front end software for the vertical goniometer. • Once vertical goniometer is ready, there will be a number of EOS requests. • Investigate 2 plane crystal channeling. • Investigate use of crystal collimation with a multi-strip crystal.
