Egg osmosis Experiment Liam neill 873
Purpose • Place eggs in vinegar. to remove the shell • Measure weight of egg using a balance • Measure size of egg using measuring tape • Place one egg in water the, place the other egg in corn syrup. • Weigh and measure eggs again.
Hypothesis • Egg in corn syrup- weigh, size ,look like • It would get bigger, it would look different, weight more. • Egg in water-, weigh, size, look like. • Get smaller, weighed less, look the same.
Materials • Beakers • Balance • String • Measuring tape • Vinegar • Corn syrup • Water
Observations • After you take it out of the vinegar, the egg is soft or squashy because the shell is removed • After the egg sat for 24 hours their is a large amount of foam • Their are bubbles that are going up on egg.
Conclusion Corn syrup • got smaller because water moved out of the egg • The egg had higher water Concentration than the corn syrup • Water • Egg got larger • Water moved to the egg • The egg had lower concentration • The water moved from higher concentration
Conclusion • Corn supry • Size -wrong • Appearance- wrong • Water • Size- wrong • Appearance- wrong • Size- wrong
