Purpose The reason I am doing this project is to see what materials will best prevent a hard boiled egg from cracking, paper, toilet paper, and paper towels. Hypothesis I think that toilet paper will best prevent the egg from cracking because, it is softer.
Materials • 9 eggs • 3 pieces of paper • 3 pieces of toilet paper • 3 pieces of paper towels • 1 step ladder • 1 tape measure
The Procedures • Gather all materials. • Place 3 eggs in 3 pieces of 6 in. paper towels then secure with a rubber band. • Measure how far up from dropping point. • Climb step ladder and drop the eggs graph results. • Repeat steps 2-4 using toilet paper, and copy paper. • Drop from 6 ft.
What material cracked the most? 1=least cracked To 3=most cracked
Conclusion • Our hypothesis was wrong. Paper towels worked best because it is thicker, and it wraps the egg better. The worst was toilet paper because it was really thin.
