  1. Chamber Production Status @ Aachen • Superlayers: • Chambers **Partly assembled with old HVB from ISR. Right now, HVB for about 5 more SL still available (in total we had ISR-HVB for 34 SL). Production Status at Aachen

  2. Some Remarks • Impact on mechanical preparation: • Slightly reduced production speed for about 3 weeks in August due to testbeam preparation. • Reasons for difference between mechanically produced and tested SL: • In March/April no HVB available until old HVB from ISR returned to Aachen. • Mid September assembly has to stop since all ISR-HVB are used up. • Reduced assembly speed due to chamber repair work at the ISR. • Reasons for difference assembled and tested SL: • Time without assembly due to HVB. • A break in testing was due to testing of new HVB in SL (2 months long-term test). Production Status at Aachen

  3. Experience with new HVB • New HVB were tested inside SL, in comparison with old HVB. • One SL was completely assembled with new HVB. 50% of two other SL’s were equipped with new HVB (once a layer, once a side). In total 24 HVB. • Under test since 02/07/2004. Observations: • At the beginning average SL noise about twice as high as usual. • No significant difference between old and new HVB in terms of noise (assume some humidity in the gas from the new HVB). • Noise reduced due normal level (~40 Hz/cell on average) after HV-training and time under gas. • Occasional current fluctuations with higher HV-settings (3.7/1.8/-1.4)kV of about 40 nA per max.32 channels.
