ADDIE Model. Barbara Lopez EDTC 3320: Instr. Design. The acronym “ADDIE” stands for Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate. It is a project management tool that helps us think about the instructional design. It’s a practical approach to help the learner.

  2. The acronym “ADDIE” stands for Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate. • It is a project management tool that helps us think about the instructional design. It’s a practical approach to help the learner. http://www.tzanis.org/Courses/ADDIE/index.htm

  4. Analyze phase Identify the learning problem with goals and objectives. “What are your goals?” http://www.learning-theories.com/addie-model.html

  5. Design phase Involves research, planning, developing, evaluating to help you design the project. “How can I reinforce this?” http://ed.isu.edu/addie/design/design.html

  6. Develop phase Create a plan or layout to implement the change. Such as: story boards, blue prints. “I got an idea!” http://ed.isu.edu/addie/develop/develop.html

  7. Implement phase The layout is put into action and a procedure for training the learner and teacher is developed. “Let’s try this out!” http://www.learning-theories.com/addie-model.html

  8. Evaluate phase Systemic process that determines the quality and effectiveness of the instructional design as well as the final product. Two parts to the evaluating process: • Formative • Summative http://ed.isu.edu/addie/evaluate/evaluate.html

Formative evaluation involves gathering information during the early stages of the design process. • Summative evaluation gathering information following implementation of the project in order to determine its effectiveness. “With all this information, now I know what I need to do!” http://ed.isu.edu/addie/evaluate/evaluate.html

  10. This design model is very useful and could be used in any educational project to help the teacher become more successful in training the learner.
