Blood Chemistry • Offered once a year - Voluntary • Lado a Lado – Gateway Community Health • Tests included: CBC, Liver Enzymes, BS, and A1C • Cost: $18 • PSA- Exam $15.00 • Diabetic Risk Factor Screening is Free of Charge • Lab Results with Counseling brought to testing location • Family Members can be included
Glaucoma Screening • Offered annually • Lado a Lado - GCHC • Combined with Blood Chemistry • Cost: Free • Results: Given at time of test • Family members included
Flu Vaccine Clinics • Offered annually - Voluntary • DSHS • 2 District-wide Clinics: • North: BoardRoom • South: SAC Auditorium • Cost: $10 • Hours: 3-5PM • Family members included
Hepatitis B VaccineProgram • Offered to selected employees at risk for exposure to blood or bodily fluids • Identified per Campus Nurse • Employee can accept or deny • Series of 3 injections • Clinics offered 3 times a year at 2 sites: 1 North and 1 South location • CLHD – Immunization Division • Hours: 2-5 pm • Cost: $0
Health Monitoring • Performed at every campus by Campus Nurse • Upon employee request • Includes: Blood Glucose Testing, Blood Pressure, Health Counseling, Weight Monitoring • Cost: $0 • Supplies and Equipment obtained through Health Services Department
Diabetes HB 984Mandate • Effective 9/1/05 • Designation of UDCA on every campus by Principal • At least 2 non-licensed staff members per campus • Training to be conducted by Eliza Santos Dietician and Health Services Staff - UDCA Training August 20, 2007 Transportation/Cafeteria - UDCA Training October 8, 2007 All new campus staff designated as UDCA

AED UPDATE • CPR/AED TRAINING • Available for all district employees and volunteers by Health Services Staff • Safety procedures on the use of AED’s • Schools must include CPR/AED instructions in TEKS • Nurses, athletic coaches, cheerleader and drill team sponsors, PE instructors, band directors and assistants, and also, students who serve as athletic trainers must be trained and certified in CPR/AED
