Summary of MODAPS Production 7/28 • Forward Processing C5, 5.1 and 4.1: • Aqua forward processing is as close to real time as possible; Terra is 2 days behind due to a delay in delivery of ancillary data from the data provider; • We are reprocessing PGE41 (MCD12Q1), C5 Land Cover Quarterly processing for years 2002-2007 • Year 2002 has completed • We have processed PGE87 (MCD12Q2), C5 Land Cover CMGs through year 2006 • We have started production of PGE42 (MCD12C1), Quarterly 56km CMG Land Cover • Collection 5.1 Burned Area Reprocessing • The leading edge for this reprocessing is at day 2003/155.

Summary of PGE Deliveries to SDST (7/28) Collection 5 • Atmospheres: • A new version of PGE69 was delivered and baselined to correct the bug found in the last science test. • A pre-delivery of the Terra Deep Blue PGEs was received on July 22. • Land: • A new version of PGE11(LSR) for Mandriva was delivered. • Collection 6 • Level 1: • A C6 Terra and Aqua PGE01 has been baselined. • A Terra and Aqua L1B for collection 6 has been baselined. • We are expecting a new delivery with science code updates by the end of this month. • Land: • We have received the collection 6 versions of PGE16 (LST), PGE75 (daily CMG), PGE21 (8-day Surface Reflectance), PGE90 (Aeronet Subsetter) and PGE11(LSR)

  4. Summary of Science Testing (7/28) • Atmospheres: • A scienece test for one day of Terra and 1 day of Aqua completed successfully using the new version of PGE 69. This version was also run in parallel with forward processing for 29 data days without error. • Land Science Testing: • A science test for PGE72 (for land water mask) is running. Nine of 12 16-day periods have completed. This test is expected to complete August 4. • We have completed generating a 1-year test data set of C6 PGE11(LSR) and PGE75(CMG) to be used for collection 6 science testing. • L1 Science Testing: • A second science test for C6 PGE01 was processed through LSR and control points and is under review. • Mandriva Science Testing: • PGEs 01, 02, 03, 07, 08, 43 and 44 have passed Mandriva testing. • A chain test from L0 through the land dailies has completed and is under review. A second test is planned for next week. • Land PGEs are being tested using inputs generated on the Mandrake system • PGE 33 is being reviewed by the developer • PGEs 3,7,8,11,12,13,14,15,22,43,44,46,75,80 and 84 were tested. • A second science test for PGE16 completed and failed. • Tests for 8- and 16-day PGEs completed; PGEs 21,45,31,58,25,35,29 and 34 passed, PGE72 failed. • Work is continuing on the atmospheres PGEs. • A science test is planned for PGE06
