  3. TERMINOLOGI • Diplomasiberasaldaribahasa Latin danYunani “DIPLOUN” artinya “MELIPAT” atau “SURAT KEPERCAYAAN” • Di zamanKekaisaranRomawi : paspor, pas jalandansuratberhargaatausertifikatygdibubuhimeteraidandibungkusdenganlempenganlogamdisebut DIPLOMA.

  4. TERMINOLOGI • DIPLOMA inikemudianmempunyaiartidokumen yang berisipenganugerahanhakistimewaataupersetujuankepadakomunitasasing. • Perkataan DIPLOMASI kemudianmenjelmamenjadiistilah DIPLOMAT, DIPLOMASI, dan DIPLOMATIK.

  5. DIPLOMAT • DIPLOMA ygberbentuk metal (logamtipis) bundarygdiberi cap dandisebutkankeahlian/ kepandaiansertabakatorangygmembawanya. • Orangygmembawa DIPLOMA itukemudiandisebut DIPLOMAT.

DIPLOMATIK • DIPLOMA ygberbentuklogamtipisitukemudiandigantimenjadi passport (to pass a port = izinmelintasi portal). • Untukmencegahkepalsuanketeranganygtercantumdalam DIPLOMA (passport) itu, diadakanlahkantorperwakilan (disebut res diplomatica) untukmemeriksakeabsahanpasporasliataupalsu. • Kantor itudikenaldgnnama KEDUTAAN (embassy).
