Graduate Certificate Requirements Six area courses in at least three disciplines Sufficient language skills to conduct field research in Spanish, Portuguese, or another language of the area Interdisciplinary research paper
Undergraduate Requirements Certificate 7 area courses in at least three disciplines 6 terms of college-level language courses (Spanish, Portuguese, or an Amerindian language) Study in Latin America of at least six weeks’ duration Related Concentration 5 area courses in at least three disciplines 4 terms of college-level language courses (Spanish, Portuguese, or an Amerindian language)

Academic Resources FACULTY 74 Latin American specialists – our “Core” faculty 60 faculty members whose courses or research include Latin America -- our “Related” faculty AREA & LANGUAGE COURSES offerings in 20 departments of 8 schools 177 Latin American content courses were offered in academic year 2004-05 in which about 4000 will have enrolled Elementary through advanced language courses offered in Spanish, Portuguese, Quechua and Aymara – enrollment of about 2700 LIBRARY 450,000 volumes in the Eduardo Lozano Latin American Collection
