Update General Info • PreAcc Beam: • Linac Beam: Probe? • Booster Beam: Tuning – beam for HEP • 10 turns -> MI • Studies still underway: • Transverse damper studies – not yet started – need to put system back together • Cogging software work continues – old system used in operation • Booster optics software – • Booster Longitudinal dampers –software effort just starting, new boards? • Booster RF cavity rework • Cavity from RF17 reinstalled yesterday – had a vacuum issue • Booster RF19 will be next – has been out of tunnel for some time to allow for extra cool down • RF8 was removed because of RF leakage (this was the first refurbished) • Spare Cavity Work – brazing plans? • Booster Ferrites • Were due 2nd or 3rd week of July – • Low Mu cores 60 on 8/23ship 9/11, 60 on 9/6 ship 9/18 and 76 (balance) on 9/27ship 10/3 • High mu cores – we are preparing a response before the next batch is made • HLRF – PO all signed off – but issues with purchasing agreement CPFF is causing issues!!! • Looking into an alternate SBK design • Linac Modulator - testing continues • Booster Shielding – work continues but issues regarding implementation • Short Kickers under test
Recent PIP Budget/News • Supplemental Funding – approved and nearly spent There are several POs still needing to get finished • Budget Issues – Submitted FY14 labor and Budget • Labor plan is in place – entirely expect it to change • PIP 11 M FY14 budget uploaded • New director has not given any signal to PIP to slow down or change course • Labor Issues • We have not had the expected labor on a few parts of PIP • Cavity refurbishment is the most glaring shortfall • MSD techs have not become available • Looking into other options to move this process along • Please use the E-Log to put general work in progress updates/photos – weekly would be nice – if progress is being made in task • Need to post
