  2. Agenda • Summary Update • Current Activities/Updates • Ken Domann – Project Status and Budget • Matt Gardner – Linac LCW upgrades & Transformer Install

Update • Linac SBK: Work progressing (CDR in June) (Working on items discussed during phone conference) • Linac Laser Notching: Received the final amp – some issues which required vendor support (not fixed) • Modulator work: EE support is proceeding with build up of 25 cell (9 cell looks good) • Linac Beam Physics: No news • Injector: Both sources up and running – next will work on larger volume source and gas mixture • Booster Beam: • Transverse damper – no news • Cogging software work continues – testing on MI cycles continues, notch creation using new system verified • Booster optics software – verification of 465 cards complete this week – testing this week tune settings • Booster Longitudinal dampers - progress continues – verification of process ( see pics) • Booster RF • Booster RF2 Cavity shipped last Friday – work will start this week on it? • RF19 – all assembled (replaced vacuum flange) - finishing up dressing cavity before testing • Looking at extra tuners (one that was stored in box and one on large bore cavity) • New Parallel Cavities – Waiting on temp measurements (some done on last cavity) • Perpendicular Cavities – working on solenoid design and testing of ferrites – buying samples • High mu cores – the rest of our sample High U cores should be here? Verify them this week! • Additional pieces will allow us to to build single tuner • Assemble three tuners and put on spare cavity – then test!! • Booster Anode Supplies –Work continues – headaches with purchasing!! • Booster Bias supplies – First one had to have some LCW re-work but is close to finish • Booster Shielding – setting up another round of scans – during cavity install & next day • Booster Nothcer – TD proceeding with building 2 more short kickers, Work on PS testing continues • May convert to new PS system during shutdown for one long kicker!

  4. Install refurbished cavity in slot 2 Pull Cavity RF 5 (need to fix taper) Pull another cavity for refurb • Cavities Refurbishment • 10 of 19 cavities have been refurbished

Recent PIP Budget/News • Budget Issues: no news from DOE/Lab meeting • Another budget meeting in June (after dust settles) • General: Lots of talk about P5 and DOE – PIPII/PIP • PMG – 4/26 has been canceled – Stuart is departing • Who will replace Stuart – not sure but he has listed PIP as one of his important tasks • Lots of shutdown talk – Regular SD planning • Update of RLS – some Booster items remain • P5 should report back to lab in April – PIP impact likely • Director is interested in 20 Hz – potential users….. • Too soon to affect what we are doing • Post-Doc position for PIP is open/receiving resumes

  6. Upcoming Talks Future Meetings to be Scheduled: • Eddy – Booster damper plans (next week?) • Tom Kubicki – New Booster Cavity Plan • ?? – New tuners – plans/ideas • Bill Pellico - Loss Scans and Shielding Assessment • John Reid - Solid State Installation - Final Report
